Land use of the Central reclamation - Comparing the Government proposal and the truth
The theme of the offical Government booklet “All About Central Reclamation Phase III” is “returning the Harbour to the people”. Inside it, the Central after reclamation is depicted not according to the scale (Picture on left hand side – Government proposal). This mislead the public to think that they will have a park or promenade to enjoy the harbour, but the truth is there will be a ‘Groundscraper’ as long as 420 metres lying along the harbour-front (Picture on right hand side – the true version).
